Girls of Grace meets at the St. Stephen Church ROC Center Saturday evenings, following the 6pm Mass until about 0pm. All Middle School girls are invited for an evening of fun, prayer, and sharing! Read what some girls have said:

“What I think about Girls of Grace is that it’s an amazing way to just show who you really are and hang out with friends, and not be afraid of who you really are. It’s not about what you are—it’s about who you are! ) “ ~ Anna Marie D.

“I love Girls of Grace. It’s my one way to be a true Christian girl with my old and new friends. Anyone who wants to have fun and be closer to God should come!” ~ Natalie D.

“Girls of Grace is a program where shy girls can interact and they can get over being shy. Girls will love the program, and they will have a lot of fun meeting girls, and they can win lots of cool prizes – it is a blast!” ~ Christine T.

“Girls of Grace is a great way to make new friends through God. Everybody gets along great and none of us have anything to hide.” ~ Chrystee B.

“I’m going to have fun and learn about God.” ~ Lacey

“I think Girls of Grace is not only a way to be with friends, but with the Lord/ I also think Girls of Grace is really fun!” ~ Amanda A.

“I like Girls of Grace because it is a great place to be yourself without having to worry about bullies or mean girls. I have a lot of fun, and it is great to hang out with friends.” ~ Kaitlin E.

“I haven’t gone yet, but I have heard that it’s fun and the I absolutely have to go!” ~ Marissa Anne H.

The Career Transition Ministry (CTM) was formed to assist those who are unemployed or underemployed. Our workshops include resume preparation, interviewing skills, how to network, self awareness and the financial aspects of being unemployed to name just a few. All sessions are held every Monday evenings from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at St. Stephen School on Boyette Road in the Angel’s Wing (one mile west of Bell Shoals Road). Our workshops are facilitated by experts in these fields and most are parishioners of St. Stephen parish. These sessions have had a direct impact on several attendees in obtaining new jobs. Please contact John or Sheila Nemia for more information @ 671-2669 or careertransitionministry@ststephencatholic.org

Anyone who missed any of the aptitude test sessions can make them up at our next session on July 12th. We don’t want you to be embarrassed that you can have lost your job due to the economy or downsizing. Com join us and share your stories with others who are in the same position and realize that you are not alone! You just may pick up that important idea or hint that will help you during that next interview!

Are you still dealing with the lose of a loved one on your own?

Trying to make sense of the hurt and void in your life? Why not meet with a group of people who have gone or are going through this process. It’s much easier to talk to people who have experienced a lose than someone who thinks “ you should be over that by now”. We meet every 2nd and 4th Monday of the month in the schools lab at 7 P.M. Don’t sit home alone – meet some new friends. For more information call Julie McDermott 643-3470.

Who Will Dry Our Tears?

Weekend retreat May 7-9 for parents who have experienced the death of a child. Presentations by Johnnette Benkovic, Founder of “Living His Life Abundantly International” and “Women of Grace.” Retreat is sponsored by the House Of Mercy and Encouragement and Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, and will be at the Bethany Center, Lutz, FL. Cost is $175 per person double occupancy; $225 single occupancy. Please call 727-786-795 for information.

Grief Support

St. Stephen partners with LifePath Hospice to provide grief support. New Beginnings is a six-week support group for adults grieving the loss of a loved one. Circle of Friends provides ongoing support. Circle of Love is designed especially for grieving children. For information, call Diane Schnelly of LifePath Hospice at 877-2200.

Volunteer Opportunity

Attention Eucharistic Ministers & Sacristans: The Bereavement Ministry needs you! Do you have a couple of hours now and then to help at funerals? The bereavement ministers take care of the family, but not all of them are Eucharistic Ministers and Sacristans. If a few people help in this area, it would assist our few dedicated people who assist the families now. Please contact Jan Thompson at 442-8884 or e-mail Bereavement@ststephencatholic.org.
