2012 Summer Programs
St. Stephen Religious Education – learning doesn’t stop when the school year ends!
Vacation Bible School
Mark your calendar! VBS will be held June 18 through 22, 2012!
Vacation Bible School will be held June 18 through 22. Children will "visit" Babylon and learn about Daniel's courage in captivity. We will have a morning and evening session (provided there are enough adult volunteers). Registration for participants will begin in May. Financial assistance is available.
Volunteers are needed in all areas. Our director, Heidi Noyes, is seeking adult and youth volunteers and will hold planning meetings beginning in April. If interested in assisting, call the R.E. Office. Parents - registration fees for your children are waived when you volunteer all five days of VBS. A nursery will be provided for children under the age of 4 whose parents are volunteering (morning session only).
Supplies are also needed! Download Supply Wish List for Vacation Bible School
Heroes of the Bible Story and Activity Hour
Children going into grades pre-kindergarten through grade 2 had a blast learning about the different heroes this past summer. The Religious Education Office would love to offer this opportunity again in 2012 but we need volunteers to help run the activity hour. We are in need of a Coordinator(s) to help organize and facilitate the activity hours. Please contact Tara at the Religious Education Office if you would like more information or would like to help.
Heroes of the Bible will meet on Tuesday mornings (10 a.m. until 11 a.m.) in classroom 3 beginning June 26. Our last session will be July 31.
A visit to Mary's Garden
Kid's Kingdom
New for 2012! This program is for our rising 3rd through 5th grade children. Join us as we explore what it means to be a part of the Kingdom. Children will participate in small group discussions on a specific topic each week. Opportunities to socialize and have a little fun together will follow. We will gather on Thursday afternoons at the ROC from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. beginning July 5. Our final session will be August 2.
Adult and high school volunteers needed! Please contact Tara at the Religious Education Office you would like to help.
Middle School Summer Extravaganza
Our annual Extravaganza will be held at the ROC June 25 - 29 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. Rising 6th through 8th graders are invited to join us for an exciting week of faith, fun, and festivities.
Cosmic Bowling
Want to enjoy a cool day indoors surrounded by friends glowing in the dark? Head over to COSMIC BOWLING! Middle school students only, please. Watch the bulletin for upcoming dates or call Kim for more information.
San Jose Mission VBS
Join us in August as we host Vacation Bible School for the children of the San Jose Mission in Dover. An annual service project, this is a great opportunity for Confirmation candidates to earn service hours. Planning for this event will begin soon. Contact Kim at the Religious Education Office for more information.
