We are walking 60 miles over 3 days to fight breast cancer.
Please support us as we take an amazing journey in the fight against breast cancer! We will be walking 60 miles over the course of three days. All proceeds benefit the Don and Erika Wallace Comprehensive Breast Program at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute.
The mission of the H. Lee Moffitt Comprehensive Breast Cancer Program is to advance treatment options for breast cancer through basic scientific research and clinical trials and to address the needs of the breast cancer patient.
Are You Interested in Walking?
We are planning now for the 2010 3-Day Project Cure Walk. We will begin at the Hillsborough County Park on Natures Way in Bloomingdale East and walk laps around Natures Way/Culbreath Road. Each lap approximates 4 miles. Those who are walking 20 miles/day for 3 days will begin at 6:00 AM and will finish at about 2:00 PM each day.
For information about training for the 3-Day Walk, see the 16-week or 24-week training guide. We also have groups who train together on the weekend.Â
You are welcome to join us in the 3-day walk and walk 4 miles, 8 miles, 12 miles, 16 miles or 20 miles on one, two or three days. For example – if you would like to come out at 9:00 on Saturday, Nov. 14th and walk one 4-mile lap – we welcome you. We are asking all walkers to help raise funds for breast cancer research regardless of how far they are walking. Click here to download a sponsor sheet for the Project Cure 3-Day Walk.
What to Do the Day of the Walk?
The walk begins each day at the Hillsborough County park on Natures Way. Stop by the registration table to sign in. We will not have a group start. Rather, you may begin your walk anytime after 6:00 am. Please plan to finish by 2:00 pm. Restroom facilities are available at the park. Please bring your own water bottle to carry with you. You may also want to bring a snack, sunscreen and a hat. Questions should be directed to Lisa Huetteman lisa@the-black-diamond.com.
