The ministry of the Word includes adults, youth and children who have dedicated themselves to the proclamation of God’s Word at scheduled weekend Masses and Holy Days. Readers also read announcements and the Prayers of the Faithful when a Deacon is not present. No regular meetings are held, but each reader is required to attend a training session and annual retreat designed to teach the mechanical aspects of lecturing and to foster spiritual growth in each person.
