We are a group of brothers and sisters who meet (as the name implies) daily to serve our parish community at the 8:30 AM Mass and the Wednesday evening 6:15 PM Mass.
Each day one of us is an:

• Altar server, making sure church is open, candles lit, lectionary in place then accompanying the celebrant to assist at Mass. Yes, ringing of the bells at the Consecration is one of the duties! Also, the altar server lights the thurible and readies the incense and stand for Adoration on Wednesday morning. Full training is provided (or a simple refresher for those of you who served in your youth).

• Prior to Mass one of us is sacristan, an important “behind the scenes” servant, making ready the liturgical vessels, water and wine, lavabo dish, linens, and hosts to be consecrated. At the end of Mass, the sacristan ensures all vessels and linens are cleaned and stored for the next Mass.  Full training according to diocesan guidelines is provided.

• During Mass one of us is reader, preparing ahead of time to study the day’s first reading (some days there are two) and the responsorial psalm to ensure correct pronunciation, and then boldly proclaiming God’s Word for the faithful to hear. Full Lector/Reader training is provided.

• At Communion time, one of us is Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion (EMHC) to assist the celebrant is the distribution of Holy Communion. Full training according to diocesan guidelines is provided.

We do follow a monthly schedule and in most cases are scheduled for a week at a time.   One of us is always available to sub (even at the last minute) should your schedule change.
