There are several times when a loved one will be able to participate in the Funeral Liturgy. They include:
Acting as a Pallbearer, and helping to bring the remains of your loved one into the church at the beginning of the Funeral Liturgy, and outside at the conclusion.
Placement of the Funeral Pall, fabric placed on the casket, is a reminder of our Baptism into the Christian Community and now of our Baptism into our new life with Christ. We encourage family members to take part in placing the pall on the casket at the beginning of the Funeral Mass, and assist in its removal as the casket is about to be removed from the church.

A note... reading during the Funeral Liturgy of a loved one is very difficult, and not for everyone. If you prefer, our Bereavement Ministry can provide readers that will be able to properly read Sacred Scripture well.
